Chipperfield Choral Society, directed by Delia Meehan and with Emma Bell and Alan Taylor as our patrons, rehearses and gives concerts in and around the beautiful Hertfordshire village of Chipperfield. Founded in 1947, we have about 100 members who come from Chipperfield and the surrounding area.

Our repertoire is wide and varied. Every year just before Christmas there are traditional Christmas Concerts in the wonderful setting of St Paul’s village church in Chipperfield. In the spring, the concert features a major work given in a larger venue and in the summer we return to St Paul’s for a concert of lighter music . Recent spring concerts have included Elgar’s Music Makers, Brahms Requiem and Haydn's Creation. In Spring 2015 we gave a highly acclaimed performance of Mendelssohn's dramatic oratorio Elijah to a packed St John's church in Boxmoor.

In 2010 we set up the Liz Holliday Young Singers Scheme in memory of one of our past chairmen.  The scheme gives financial assistance to young singers for support such as singing lessons, music purchase or even maybe concert dress! Please refer to the Young Singers Scheme page for more details of how to apply to the scheme.
