Anna Huntley - Mezzo-Soprano

Anna Huntley was born in Teeside in 1982 and is a Foundation Scholar at the Royal Academy of Music where she is currently in her third year studying with Beatrice Unsworth and Clara Taylor. Anna has won many awards and prizes, most recently the City of Birmingham Choir's National Singing Award (after which she appeared with them as a guest soloist in the Birmingham Symphony Hall) and the Hampshire Singing Award. As part of this prize, Anna will give a solo recital in the Winchester Festival in the summer of 2005.

Anna's recent oratorio performances have included Mozart's Solemn Vespers, Vivaldi's Gloria and Stabat Mater and Haydn's Nelson Mass. Future engagements include a concert tour of New York, a masterclass with Robert Tear, a performance of Mahler's Lieder Eines Fahrenden Gesellen with the Colne Philharmonic Orchestra and solo recitals in Teeside and Oxford.

Thomas Jesty - Treble

Thomas Jesty (Treble) is this year’s BBC Radio 2 Chorister of the Year. He won the award last month in the annual competition open to choristers from choirs countrywide. He is currently Head Quirister at Winchester College and attends The Pilgrims’ School in the heart of the city within the grounds of the cathedral. In 1382 the statutes of William of Wykeham, Bishop of Winchester, made provision for 16 quiristers to sing at the Chapel services of Winchester College and this is still maintained today. The quiristers regularly broadcast on BBC radio and have made several recordings. They also undertake frequent tours abroad.

In addition to his singing he plays the violin and piano but he is also an enthusiastic sportsman. He enjoys playing football, cricket and squash but perhaps uniquely for a choirboy, is also keen on juggling with rings, clubs, balls and pois.

Nicholas King - Organ

Nicholas King has had a distinguished career in music education in schools, at the Royal College of Music and as Chief Examiner in Music for Trinity College London. He now concentrates on freelance performance, teaching, adjudicating, composition and research. He is a Patron of the New School of Organ Studies, for whom he launched in October 2002 a successful series of weekly lunchtime concerts on Fridays at St John's Church, Boxmoor.

Rosemary Venner - Piano

Rosemary Venner, following studies at the Royal Academy of Music, was a freelance accompanist and coach for several years before she moved into office administration. She continues to play for choral and operatic societies and for music hall productions. Rosemary has been the Society’s rehearsal pianist since 1994 and sings with the altos during performances.
