| Vanessa
Bowers
- Soprano
Vanessa Bowers is 17 years old and has been studying singing from an early age. She attends Chesham High School, studies singing with Kate Bowers and viola and piano at the Junior Royal Academy of Music. In 2000, Vanessa was Junior Chiltern Young Musician of the year and has gained many successes in local festivals. At age of 15, she passed with distinction the grade 8 singing examination of the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music. Her wide-ranging repertoire includes art song (especially English), lieder, folksong, liturgical music (in period style), oratorio and musicals. She is a member of the medieval group Chantyre. Vanessa is delighted to be singing again with the Chipperfield Choral Society as she has happy memories of performing with them when she was 13. Vanessa plays viola in the English Schools’ Orchestra and was selected to tour the major Australian cities with them during the summer of 2003 – a stunning experience for a young musician. |
